Nikon Nikkor AF-S 70-300 mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR
1. Introduction
Perhaps the most fierce competition can be observed on the market of kit lenses’ substitutes. Not less keen rivalry is concerning the segment of amateur zoom lenses which focal lengths begin in the range of 70-100 mm and end at 300 mm. Every optics manufacturer has at least one such lens on offer and some even have several different ones.
On 9 August 2006, along with the launch of the Nikon D80 reflex camera, two new lenses were presented to the public: a Nikkor AF-S 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED DX and a Nikkor AF-S 70-300 mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR. The first of them had hit the shelves earlier so it has been already tested by us; now the time came to test the second one.
