Samsung NX 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS
1. Introduction
A kit lens is an inherent element of basic sets bought by many people. For most of them such a lens is bound to be their long-term companion and only after some years they will have decided to buy another one. That’s why the quality of the kit lens matters. In systems with a very limited choice of lenses the importance of a kit device is even bigger. Mirrorless systems don’t offer us a wide choice of optical devices and that’s why we try to look closer at any standard kit lens they have. So far we have tested the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 14–42 mm f/3.5–5.6 ED (although its successor has already been announced) from the Micro Four Thirds system, and the Sony E 18–55 mm f/3.5–5.6 OSS from the NEX system. It’s high time we checked what the Samsung NX 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS, a part of the Samsung NX system, has to offer. It was launched at the beginning of this year with the first NX system camera - the Samsung NX10 already tested by us.
