Cons: Strong distortion, very bad resolution from 50mm onwards. Boring 6 pointed sunstars.

Pros: Very effective IS, comfortable handling, and passable build quality. Covers a very wide focal range. Decent center performance at wide end, okay corner performance stopped down from 18mm to 35mm.

Summary: Use it if you can't change lenses and anticipate covering a wide range of focal lengths. Use it if it's all you have for wide angles, but be ready to correct the CA and distortion in post. A halfway decent lens for the price if bought in a kit, and if you don't anticipate upgrading to nicer lenses, it'll get you off on a decent start.

Cons: Not sharp in the sides (not just in the corners, anywhere away from the center), chromatic aberration, kinda large.

Pros: Everything else. The handling is outstanding, it's lightweight, image stabilization is ridiculously effective, the zoom range is nice, and focusing is good despite not being usm.

Summary: A fine lens if you don't care about sharpness.

Cons: good use range, good color, fast AF ***.

Pros: erratic AF, awful CA, really short sharpening.

    Summary: Bad lens.
