We all should know the B+W filters. They are made by the German company Schneider Optics and made of glass from the Schott Company. The MRC series (Multi-Resistant Coating) has antireflective coatings, which also protect the filters from scratching. MRC coatings are generally considered to be harder than the glass they are put on. The Slim version filters don’t create additional vignetting when put on wide corner lenses (lenses with a vocal length less than 24mm – the equivalent of a small frame lens).

Summary:

Third place could be considered disappointing for one of the most expensive filters on the market. The weakest side of this model is the somewhat weak UV radiation blocking – it transmits as much as 8.6% of the UV radiation. On the other hand, the build quality and the coatings are very good. Although it is an expensive filter, wide frame lens’ owners (using lenses with a focal length less than 24mm – the equivalent of small frame lenses) should consider purchasing this filter.
