Polarizing filters test 2015
19. Marumi FIT+SLIM Circular PL
In our first test of polarizers the Marumi products fared exceedingly well, especially if you take into account their moderate price. Let’s see whether that result can be defended now by a new bunch of filters.

Design, usage and summary
The filter didn’t cause any troubles during the tests: good rings, moderate, even resistance of the movements, a slight whirr during the work. Noticeable axial slack but within reasonable limits. The filter is easy to clean like most of devices not covered by any coatings. The transmission curve is a bit changeable but the deviations in the visible spectrum remain inside a 10% range. A good extinction coefficient on a level of 5/10000 right up to infrared. The violet is not damped down completely but that effect is not especially pronounced. A mean transmission of the whole spectrum and all polarizations amounts to about 31% and is the lowest in the test (the filter is also the darkest). The result would be much better if the producer decided to add some coatings and they would also eliminate artifacts.
