Cons: slim aperture, lots of chromatic aberration - visible on the evf
Pros: Very good starter lens, Decent sharpness
Summary: Got it as my first lens with the Sony A7ii. Thought that I needed a new camera because my pictures weren\'t turning out great. Rented a 70-200 GM II and realized that its completely the lens.

Cons: I lime tiny lenses, this is a little bigger
Pros: it is a light lens with stabilizer. It is a sharp lens and the lens has a good bokeh.
Summary: For me this lens is a good lens because I can use this lens in every situation and I have no problems. This is no bad lens and if you want still more than you can buy more weight and more light for more money...

Cons: Soft. Limited zoom range. Horrible bokeh.
Pros: Cheap, light, good af.
Summary: This is an update to my previous review in which it accidentally rated the optical quality a 5. It should be a 1.

Cons: Soft. Nervous bokeh. Not sharp at any aperture. 28-70 is a measles 2.5x zoom range. Probably has distortion and vignetting but lens is so bad, who cares. Very slow max apertures.
Pros: Light weight. Affordable. Quiet focus.
Summary: I figured I would try this lens with my new Sony A7 III for only $200 more than the camera body alone. I was hoping it would be a useful travel zoom, as I knew it was small and light. Unfortunately for me, this was the only positive I can take away from the lens. I tried under various apertures to get the thing somewhat sharp but was always disappointed. Btw, the max aperture at 70mm is a pathetic 5.6. The bokeh produced by this lens is sketchy and nervous. The lens performed so horribly in the optical department that I sold it yesterday on eBay. I want to clarify, the Sony camera is awesome and is capable of extremely sharp images, as two cheap primes, plus one old adapted nikkor lens proved. I have to conclude this lens is an epic failure and my advice to anyone considering it would be to SKIP it entirely.
