Cons: The lens has only F5.6 at the long end. For edge sharpness at the extremes of the focal range it needs to be stopped down once. It never delivers tack sharp corners. No included lens hood.
Pros: Very sharp center and good overall for a kit lens. Very compact and solid. Efficient O.I.S. (about 2 stops).
Summary: Use it for what it delivers best: Street photography at daytime, architecture or buildings outside, indoor photography at wide angle and the like. Do not expect Bokeh and use that to your advantage.

Cons: Corner sharpness at 12mm is quite weak due to the curved field: although it varies with focused distance, it definitely seems weak near infinity. Build quality is lower than other Panasonics eg zoom control much less smooth to use and ring eventually detaches!
Pros: Center sharpness is excellent. 12mm Corner sharpness tests well at closer distances and improves as you move up through the focal lengths. Extremely compact and convenient. Good IS.
Summary: A really useful lens in a super-convenient package. A shame that 12mm corner sharpness is so much weaker in real life than in tests!
