Cons: Mine arrived with the IS not working and Canon\'s service was really not helpful so it was returned. Plastic lens mount Poor manual focusing ergonomics Slow lens in terms of F stop
Pros: Fairly sharp lens
Summary: The IS stabilization on my copy of the lens was non functional. Canon service indicated that if they replaced the lens, I could not return the next one if it had a repeated issue on the IS so I picked a different alternative. I replaced the lens with a Tokina 11-20 f 2.8 which was very sharp, focused accurately and allowed for excellent wide angle video shooting with a Canon R in 4K, eliminating the cropped 4K format issue.

Cons: Noticeable vignetting through the whole zoom range, but specially at 10mm. Considering how narrow is the aperture, you might need to go down to f/8 to get rid of it (or just use peripheral illumination). Unnecessary large 67mm filter thread. Build quality is ok, not great.
Pros: This is surprisingly a very sharp lens. IS is completely silent and makes up for the small aperture. The STM autofocus is fast and silent, you will only hear it if you put your ear on the lens.
Summary: If you're an amateur and want to enter the world of ultrawide angle, this is the lens for you.

Cons: Plastic mount, small aperture, lack of distance scale
Pros: Very good image quality, accurate and silent Autofocus, lightweight, inexpensive, stabilization, full time manual focus
Summary: The best aps-c ultrawide you can buy at this price, and even spending twice as much for a similar lens the image quality would be the same or worse. I had a Sigma 10-20 and the Canon is a little better and costs less.

Cons: The 18mm tele end is a bit too wide, forcing you to swap lenses rather frequently. f/4.5-5.6 is rather slow, especially considering that f/4.5 is only available at 10.0mm. While relatively light and small by ultrawide lens standards, it's still a largish lens for a slow 1.8x zoom, requiring a 67mm filter. Doesn't come with a hood, but you'd want one to avoid flares.
Pros: Image quality is excellent, even in the corners where ultrawides often suffer. Build quality is in line with other EF-S STM zooms, which means quite good for a lens in this class. AF is silent and fast, and works very well in video or live view. IS mitigates the slow aperture somewhat, allowing long shutter speed in bad light.
Summary: Great bargain. Highly recommended if you do not plan to move away from APS-C and do not need large aperture to capture motion.
