Cons: A bit large and little heavy, but that\'s my only complaint, really.

Pros: IMO very acceptable sharpness, fast AF. Much better lens than many an \"expert\" suggest. Is on my camera most of the time. Good fully open, very good 1 step down, excellent at f8 and F11. Fully open little soft at edges, exactly as any other similar zoom.

Summary: An extremely usefull lens, with quality comparable to any similar zoom. Test before buy if you can as, apparently, there have been a few bad exaples floating about. Mine is excellent O/A.

Cons: Off-center sharpness below f/8 was awful in two copies I have had, at all focal distances. I considered such \"unsharpness\" unacceptable because it was like two defocused images superimposed with a slight offset like a \"shutter-shock\" problem (was not...). Really bad for landscape pictures under not so bright a light, since lack of sharpness away from center is very noticeable.

Pros: Excellent center sharpness at all focal lengths and apertures, great for everything but landscapes or any picture that needs to be sharp off-center under lighting conditions demanding apertures greater than f/8. Very good, fast and silent autofocus and stabilization, excellent build quality, not too heavy...

Summary: We look mainly at picture centers, but when sharpness in the whole image is important, one can get a bad surprise if the pictures were taken below f/8: the image quality suffers so much away from the center that the lens becomes, IMHO, unreliable. Sold the first thinking it was an individual problem and purchased another, also brand new, to no avail. Sold the second and good riddance 18-135 or any other superzoom!!!

Cons: could be a little sharper in the corners

Pros: Weather sealed, Frost resistant until minimum -15 C (tested ;-), minimal vignetting (important for stitching panos),

Summary: a good lens for outdoor activity, compact
