Cons: Big and heavy! Relatively expensive. F6.3 on the long end. Crap AF on first generation A7 models (I tried it on the A7s and A7 two years ago), single AF was slow and focus tracking completely unusable. Better AF on second generation but still lacking.

Pros: Good to average sharpness (3.5 out of 5) through the zoom range, usable wide open (24MP). In fact, better image quality than I would have expected for a superzoom. In most cases better than the 28-70 kit lens and only a little worse than the 24-70 Zeiss. Granted, both of these shorter lenses are nothing to write home about anyway, but hey - this is a superzoom. Convenience rules! Fast and reliable AF on the A7 III. Tracking works, eye AF works fine, even with AF-C.

Summary: It has its uses (vacation, convenience...), but don\'t expect outstanding image quality. It\'s usually OK or good, in rare cases even very good. For an all-in-one lens an acceptable compromise - especially when travelling.

Cons: weighs heavy and well built but rings have a bit of play. zoom is not at all clear even when manually focused with tripod. Also, when at max zoom, it stutters too much for panning in video mode. It's as if you have cheap tripod without enough greasing. I'd guess it has to do with the fact that OSS is trying to work too hard until it has to give up and go to the new frame.

Pros: wides are clear (compared to that of kit lens for a7ii). fast focus; auto mode is so convenient when taking random animals popping out into street.

Summary: it's nice lens but i was too hyped up about it.
