Cons: Wildly inconsistent image quality from 3 different copies of this lens I\'ve owned. All copies had decent center sharpness. 1 of 3 had good enough edge and corner sharpness. 2 of 3 had terrible corners at all apertures. No weather sealing. The all metal build quality makes it feel robust. but the reality is modern digital cameras need proper weather sealing to keep moisture and dust out of the sensor and electronics.

Pros: Small and lightweight. Nothing else in this focal range comes close to the size. Electronic mount contacts gives you exposure and IBIS control in camera as well as EXIF data in photos. All metal. That\'s rare these days. Takes tiny thread-in filters. Much easier than the huge, clumsy square filters and adapters needed by most other ultra wide lenses.

Summary: If size and weight are your primary concerns, buy this lens. If you\'re fussy about clinical image quality across the frame, go elsewhere. Astro shooters should look elsewhere too as this lens is just too slow at f/4.5. Get the Sony 14mm GM. The Sigma 14-24mm DG DN is the absolute best in this range but is very heavy. The Tamron 17-28mm and Sigma 16-28mm C both have better image quality at their widest ends and at least offer some level of weather sealing.
