Sigma A 20 mm f/1.4 DG DN – first impressions and sample images
1. Introduction
The next serious move in this class of equipment we saw only in September 2008 when Leica presented the Summilux-M 21 mm f/1.4 ASPH. The aperture fastness was better but also the focal length increased so the construction was a tad easier to produce – after all an increase of the focal length by 1 mm reduces the field of view by almost three degrees.
The answer of Sigma came in 2015, when they launched the A 20 mm f/1.4 DG HSM, designed for reflex cameras.

A version dedicated for mirrorless cameras appeared only on 8th August 2022 when Sigma presented two very fast wide-angle lenses, the 1.4/20 and the 1.4/24. We were sent pre-production models of these lenses before their official launch so now we can share with our Readers our hands-on impression and sample shots galleries – enjoy!
