Leica D-LUX 5 - sample images and RAW to JPEG comparision
Enjoy our sample gallery of images taken by the new Leica D-LUX 5 camera and RAW to JPEG comparision of the scene phtotographed in the studio. Please remember that the camera was pre-production sample and final quality of the images might be slightly different.
Scene photos were taken at the equivalent focal length of 50 mm and the aperture f/5.6 and using different ISO. Both JPEG and RAW (.RWL) files were recorded simultaneously. The JPEGs had highest possible resolution and quality with sharpening and noise reduction set at a minimum level. Due to the fact that the dcraw software still does not support RAW files from Leica D-LUX 5, we used Adobe Ligthroom 3.2. It turns out that the Leica D-LUX 5 is one of the hidden models supported by this application. The files were exported to TIFF format with no sharpening, and then converted to PNG. The effects are shown below.
