Canon EF 70-200 mm f/2.8L USM
1. Introduction
The Canon users have a really rich choice among the 70-200 mm class lenses. You can select from stabilized f/2.8 and f/4.0 versions, a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 in its third incarnation and a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 which is going to hit the shelves any time soon.
The last of the Canons from this group, left to be tested, is the EF 70-200 mm f/2.8 L USM model. It was launched in 1995 so in days when hardly anybody took photos using a digital camera. Six years later a stabilized model was launched as well and its appearance at once sparked off a discussion which one is optically better. It has been going on to this day as you can see glancing at our base and reading opinions about those two instruments. Some say that the older model is better, others that the opposite is true, there are also those who don’t see any difference among them.
