User profile: Semipro
Cons: heavy distorsion, heavy vignetting, heavy flare, corner sharp from f8, clumsy and noisy focus
Pros: lightweigh, cheapo, decently sharp for large prints
Summary: as far as you go around its weaknesses it'sa true cheap alternative to the zeissmodel. beware to close the aperture f8-f11 for sharp corners and to download some profile correction

Cons: Heavy, open to flare even with supplied hood, shade lens from sun where possible. Use a rubber screw in wide angle lens hood, its more effective than supplied hood.. Focul range is limited at 17-35.
Pros: Good solid build quality, metal mount, good manual focus ring. Excellent sharpness when stopped down to f/5.6 + especially on a APS-C crop camera. Lens made by Tamron for Konica Minolta so good pedigree. Fast F/2.8 lens
Summary: Makes an excellent addition to a Sony A mount system and with out costing too much.

Cons: + sharp (f5.6-7.1) + very sharp (f7,1-11) + best colours + nice range zoom + bokeh + AF quickly + good construction + very good for indoor photos
Pros: - light soft (2.8 - 3.2) - flare ... flare ...flare - little things that doesn't affects performance
Summary: I use this lens for 1 year.I'm impressed by sharpness(very good stoped down),colours(!!!!!!),built, quick focus and image quallity.Corners aren't at my expectations, but I close 1-2-3 stops and it's ok.Compatible with sony alpha 850 & 900 represents an advantage. I have to make a hard decission about what lens to buy a year ago: sigma 17-70 f2.8-4.5 or tamron 17-50 f2.8(recomended by the most of the users)....finnaly,my decision was konica-minolta 17-35 f2.8-4 and I am happy for my choice.Ilike tris lens on my alpha 700.I recommend you 100 % konica minolta 17-35 f2.8-4D !!!! cheap and good !!! Cons: Because is age, doesn't have ultrasounds motor for AF. Vignetting on full frame camera.
Pros: Bokeh is very nice. surprisingly sharp wide open.
Summary: I bought it to replace my Sigma 10-20mm, when I was using an APS-C camera (KM D7D), to have the same focal range on my A850. I enjoy it. Of course, the Zeiss 16-35 is better in all domain but I can't afford it.
