Cons: Seems there may be some less stelar copies around.
Pros: So small! Great versatile focal length. Very good IQ. Wonderful build. Good value for money.
Summary: Love this lens and its nearly always in my camera bag. Its such a useful focal length on FF and the build makes it a pleasure to use.

Pros: extraordinary and unmatched 3D photo feeling
Summary: Yes - corners could be sharper at 1.9 - but the main "feature" of this special lens designed by Jun Hirakawa (the japan god of lens design) is the incredible 3D performance. This was the design goal of Mr. Hirakawa - he donīt want a cool and clean computerlens - he wants a "diva" with special unmatched 3D performance. Use this lens at 1.9 - 2.2 and you will see ....

Pros: Near enough the perfect normal, fast enough, more than sharp enough, fantastic micro contrast, bokeh is v good wide open to around f/2.8, can get nervous stopped down after that depending on subject.
Summary: Obviously i'm using a very different lens from the others. I have fabulous optics in my bag like the 31, 77, 50 f/1.2 and sometimes I overlook the little 43 but anytime i take it out it delivers. No lens this size is going to be sharp across the frame wide open unless it is twice the size. Learn how to use it, trust it and believe me it will return draw dropping excellence every time.

Cons: Price -- but compared to Zeiss, Voigtlander and Leica it is reasonable and worth every penny. Especially as the alternatives do not support auto-focus.
Pros: The review here argues over fractions of a percent in distortion and worries about Vietnamese manufacturing. A photographer who actually uses the FA43 will succumb to the pleasures of a top-class lens with magical imaging. Tiny, fast, and crazy sharp at f/4 this lens is also wonderful wide open when used properly. Not to mention the incredible build. Border sharpness is indeed poorer wide open but some of the figures shown in these tests do not reflect other tests or user experience.
Summary: Perhaps the very best normal you can buy.

Cons: The a bit bent petals of a aperture. It is made on Vietnam
Pros: Sharp and volume drawing of photos at this lens, even on an open aperture . This lens well removes portraits and a landscape. An excellent color rendition.
Summary: The excellent qualitative universal lens, but is overestimated the price!

Cons: Wide open the contrast is good but not very good.
Pros: Perfect normal angle of view on 35mm film cameras. Famous for some 3D-like images. Optically very good to perfect from f2.8.
Summary: A very special lens to be loved or hated.
