Cons: None when used as intended. Can be initially difficult to focus, but with practice and familiarity it quickly becomes second nature. Has purple aberration for very bright edged sources against black, but becomes part of its charm. Can also flare on street lights at night, its flaring absent any artistic quality unlike e.g. Canon FD.
Pros: Beautiful creamy bokeh unlike no other lens that I have. Everything but the subject melts away.
Summary: This lens is in my everyday carry backpack with an EOS R. For portrait wide open or stopped down for general use, it is extremely versatile. One great attribute is its small size for a 1.2, it does not attract attention compared to a native auto-focus.

Cons: You need to have a split focus screen to really nail focus @ f/1.2, suggest the Katzeye with Optibrite
Pros: F/1.2 is a different world. Creamy smooth bokeh with fantastic transition from into and out of focus at all apertures. Stopped down from f/2.0 onwards and it sharpens up seriously. Build quality is fantastic with a firm but smooth focusing ring.
Summary: Sits in my bag with the 3 FA Limiteds, that is how good this lens is. Probably the best of all the f/1.2 50s.

Cons: None. It's a fairly specialist lens so you buy it for those reasons. You know its uses and limitations. Rare but keep looking.
Pros: Shallow depth of field. Manual focusing very easy on a Pentax K-5 except in very low light. Dreamy at f1.2, razor sharp from f2.8. Bokeh heaven. Rolls Royce build quality. Pentax K mount.
Summary: Rather than spend £1100 on a Pentax 31mm f1.8 (which seems to be a lucky dip regards quality), this gives me the bokeh I was looking for, for much, much less. Trouble is they're rare in the UK.

Cons: Wide open, the contrast in the image centre is good but not very good, and in the corners, contrast and resolving power are low. However, stopping down quickly imrpoves the performance.
Pros: Extreme maximum aperture. Very good image quality from f2, near perfect from f2.8. Outstanding build quality. Quite compact.
Summary: Wonderful build quality, very good but not perfect optics.

Cons: Need to have split screen focusing screen to focus precisely. Working with either stock focusing screen or by focus confirmation light/beep is still a gamble.
Pros: Wonderful rendering. By far my most favorite lens. Excellent for selective focus portraiture. Just as good for other kinds of shooting.
Summary: The fastest lens Pentax ever made. Great value for money.
