Cons: Chromatic aberrations occasionally visible in corner areas of high contrast. This however is easily corrected in Lightroom or ACR. The zoom barrel moves outwards at shorter focal lengths, which is counter intuitive and feels slightly odd at first.
Pros: Very little distortion evident and lovely colour rendering. Centre sharpness is as good as any Pentax K-mount lens I've tried yet. Embarrassingly it's far better than the overrated 21mm f3.2 prime lens in this latter respect. A vast optical improvement on the K-5 standard kit offering, and actually more pleasing to my eye in the corners at overlapping focal lengths than the pricier Sigma 10-20mm f3.5. A bargain if you can still pick up one. Note that mine is the rarer Samsung-branded version, which superficially appears slightly better built but is to all intents and purposes optically identical.
Summary: Highly recommended, especially if like me you baulk at the cost of the 16-50mm Pentax zoom that has superseded it.

Cons: Slight loss of resolution on the long end of the zoom; optically not quite "prime" good
Pros: Excellent corner to corner sharpness when stopped down a bit; less field curvature issues than most zooms in its class.
Summary: Best value zoom for landscape work; not as well suited for other types of photography.
