Cons: This lens is no more made in Japan, but the build quality is OK.

Pros: Very sharp after being closed to f2.8. Very good image quality on all the frame. Fast and reliable AF on a D610.

Summary: It\'s an incredible lens for the price. Today, what lens do you get for 150 €? This is the price for a brand new one. Try it and you will love it.

Cons: It is a spherical aberration (focus shift) lens.

Pros: Great picture quality if you can focus correcting the focus shift.

Summary: If would knew then about the focus shift problem, I wouln\'t bought it.

Cons: Front lens reacts poorly to temperature changes, but it doesn\'t seem to effect image quality

Pros: Sharp! Sharp! SHARP!!!!! Great color! Great character! Beautiful bokeh! Unbelievable value!!

Summary: You need a 50mm prime. No if\'s, you do! You can spend close to $1000 on the sigma art 50 but you wont get much out of that lens that this one can\'t offer for 1/10th of the price. If you are highly skilled enough to be sensitive to the difference between the two, you shouldn\'t be getting advice from me.

    Cons: None

    Pros: Optical performance.

Summary: Compare all Nikon 50mm lenses across review sites on the net and you'll understand that this is optically the best 50mm lens. After 2 years of shooting on D7000 and D800E, the quality of this lens is confirmed. Amongst all the really high priced glass that I have, this is my favorite.

Cons: Quite bad cyan and purple fringing wide open in high-contrast scenes.

Pros: Fast aperture, fast AF, good overall IQ, especially when stopped down. Lightweight.

Summary: Great lens! The newer G version appears to be only slightly better in terms of optical quality (wide open. Stopped down they are the same). Yet the new G version has a much slower AF and is twice the price. Get this one instead!

    Pros: Affordable Light Well made

Summary: The best F1.4 lens under $300.

Pros: very light, compact, fast AF

Summary: Particularly useful at low light situations.
