Cons: An apparent lack of resistance to sun flare. You\'ll need to provide for this when composing.
Pros: Sharp, very sharp. Organic film like rendering, never any of that \'modern\' plastic like rendering. Value cannot be bettered.
Summary: You have to get this as your first 50 on a Nikon. After using it, I reckon you\'ll have a hard time justifying purchasing a more expensive 50. It seems silly spending more on a F1.2 or AI-S F1.4 when they don\'t perform until F2 anyway and this lens performs fine at that level. Get this instead.

Cons: Manual focusing is not very smooth. Image lacks a little sharpness and contrast wide open. "Plasticky" build quality.
Pros: Very sharp especially when stopped down. Very lightweight and fits virtually anywhere.
Summary: Excellent performance at such a low price; it's a steal!

Cons: None found so far for the lens itself, the housing could be a bit "less plastic"
Pros: Very good value for the money, great for portrait. Sharpness of pics is unbeaten!
Summary: Don't wanna miss it - and don't restrict myself to portrait, works well outdoor, and for "party photography" as well

Cons: Too small. doesn't fit in the hand.
Pros: almost as sharp as F1,4, but with less geometrical distortion. Considering that it costs twice less, it's a perfect choice and there are no lens that could bring pro quality for this price.
Summary: It's a reference point for me.

Cons: None really.
Pros: Very sharp, very fast, very small & light weight.
Summary: A lot of value for the money here. A slightly more bluish tone than the Nikon 50/1.4D, but just as sharp, and a bit lighter due to more plastic/less metal and less glass. Needs a built-in camera focus-motor to autofocus.

Cons: 50mm @ DX Nikkor. It's too long for multipurpose. Soft when wide open (1.8). f2.2 is somehow usable Needs screwdriver for body (d90 or better)
Pros: Razor sharp in crop sensor (DX) Build quality
Summary: Cheap piece of great photograph utility

Cons: Soft at maximum aperture, subject to a lot of flare + diaphragm mirror effect
Pros: Very cheap, very sharp at all apertures except f1.8, small.
Summary: A very inexpensive lens of good quality, but soft at maximum aperture and very prone to internal reflexes, a nightmare for street use at night! Used on DX is too long to be the "normal" lens. Good for the price, but the new 1.8G is better!

Cons: 가격대비 최고의 성능을 내는 렌즈 입니다. 보케가 8각 보케가 나와서 좀 더 매력적으로 느껴집니다. 색감도 D3s에는 괜찮은 색감을 뽑아냅니다.
Pros: 좋습니다!!
Summary: 최고최고!

Cons: Feels a bit and only a bit plasticy
Pros: Briliantly sharp, light in weight, fast focus, fast lens, price, metal mount,
Summary: So light in weight you can have it with you all the time as a secret weapon in difficult circumstances. Great to catch fast moving grand children in difficut light. Good portrait lense keeps down the big nose effect and gives nicely blurred background, the build qualidty is a nice ballance of robust metal mount where it counts but light but tough body

Cons: Not many to be honest. yes it's a bit plasticky and light, but what do you expect for the cheapest prime money can buy?
Pros: Sharp. reliable. No-fuss lens. Fast focusing.
Summary: A must have for any nikon user. you won't get sharper results until you hit the €1000+ range of fast lenses. Brilliant for portraits. I don't know why some say it's only sharp beyond f/4?? I've had fantastic results right through the range. You just have to have your settings right. Though like most lenses you'll find it best around f/8 for outdoor use.

Cons: Not to sharp @f/1.8, cheap looking and feeling.
Pros: Very good image quality from f/4, cheap wide aparture lens

Cons: Plastic build. Busy bokeh rendition compared to other 50s.
Pros: Very affordable. Small and light.
Summary: There is no reason not to buy this lens if bugdet is a priority. But there are other 50s are superior in terms of sharpness, bokeh, build and AF.

Cons: Plastic feeling. It is just a feeling, no real problems occured as per of its build quality. A bit useless angle of view on DX, but it is a matter of personal preferences.
Pros: Small, light. It has metal mount. Except of plastic feeling it is a good quality lens - I use id for 2 years and nothing has hapend to it. Amazingly sharp. It has a depth of field scale.
Summary: It is best used as short portrait lens. For other purposes it might be too long. This is one of the lenses I allways carry with me.
