Overall
Owner since: 6 months
Price: 69 Euro
User profile: Professional
Cons: rotating front.
Pros: Great Bokeh, 9 rounded aperture blades as against only 7 blades in VR version. F4 at wide end as against only f4.5 for VR version. Has modern coating against ghosting and flaring. Nice size and grip.
Summary: Great bang for the buck as an extra lens on standby.
Overall
Owner since: 6 years
Price: $150
User profile: Semipro
Cons: Cheap build quality, terrible sharpness at longer end of zoom range (over about 150mm or so), not very sharp at other focal lengths.
Pros: Cheap, I guess. Discontinued, so people won't buy it by mistake.
Summary: The first lens from Nikon that has not impressed me, this was a second kit lens for my D70 when I purchased it. This lens has horrible sharpness issues, especially at the longer focal lengths. Avoid this lens.
