Overall
Owner since: 6 months
Price: 290
User profile: Amateur
Cons: low speed, feel, distortion
Pros: Light, wide zoom range, good image quality
Summary: nice walk around lens for the money
Overall
Owner since: 2 years
Price: $ 350
User profile: Semipro
Cons: Sample variation: Some tend to show better results at the wide end, but not good at tele or vice versa. It's hard to find that performs good in its whole range. Optical distortions, pincushion in general except 28mm barrel Lack of VR Vulnerable plastic construction
Pros: The most compact 28-200mm made ever
Summary: For FX, a good copy gives excellent corner-to-corner sharpness at f/11, but usually poor wide open. It's good for landscapes, but not for handheld low light or situations that address fast lenses.
