Price: 300 EUR
User profile: Amateur
Cons: -Poor performance againts bright light -Fairly heavy vignetting and poor corner sharpness wide open at 35mm (full frame)
Pros: -Compact and light weight -Build quality -Manual focus 35mm "macro" mode (1:4) -Great center sharpness across the focal range @ f2.8 -Bokeh
Summary: Good compromise between performance, size and price. Macro mode isn't that good, but it adds versatility. My only gripe is with the poor performance against bright lights. Contrast drops drastically even if the light source is just outside the frame! That aside there isn't much to complain about. Very versatile travelling lens!

Cons: The only con i can mention is the problem when light is coming from the side into the lens. But this can be elimanted by another lens hood. Got mine from ebay for about 5$.
Pros: Super sharp over all areas and apertures. Even at 2.8 fantastic image quality. Build like tank. One of the sharpest lenses ever made by nikon. Macro function also good.
Summary: Get this used when you can. Be careful that you get a good condition (mint conditions are out there): Check if No fungus inside lenses and that push-pull-zoom stays in position. Price for a good piece about 350EUR 2013. I use mine on a D7000, you need autofocus motor in camera body. Would never give it back.
