Cons: wide open in the edges not so sharp (24mm) and strong CA's, visible on poster photos
Pros: for portraits good sharp in the center nice gold ring
Summary: for smaller photos ok, in the corners especially wide angle not so sharp, for posters I prefer other brands

Cons: A bit heavy.
Pros: f/2.8 lens for a very good price. zoom range is great for social events and landscape photography.
Summary: Got an used one for about $300. I use it for social events (birthdays, wedding), landscape photo. Nothing to complain about. Want a nice, low price, 24-70? Go for it.

Cons: Good sharpness from 2.8 in the center. Very good bokeh for a zoom lens, warm color rendition.
Pros: Soft borders on full frame at nearly every aperture, mediocre AF performance in low-light scenarios, huge and expensive 82mm filter thread. Many samples had front/backfocus tendencies, pay attention to try on your camera before buy it. Lens work good on D700. Lens won't work properly on D90, giving +1EV at 24mm and -1EV at 70mm. Sigma Italian Customer Care replies that internal circuitry should be updated to give compatibility with last Nikon cameras, cost: 180€ (220$). That's why I hate third party lenses.
Summary: Not suggested

Cons: for the high price strong CA's and not really sharp in the Corners, esacially on 24mm wide angle, similar to cheap lenses
Pros: really sharp only in the center
Summary: my lens is for small photos and portraits ok, but mot for documentary Images on wide angle

Cons: 82mm filter is expensive especially the CPL filters for it. Heavy/big. Many of them has front/back focus problems.
Pros: f/2,8. Super image quality. Heavy so hard to shake I can hold longer speeds without image stabiliser.
Summary: Very good lens. I love it.

Cons: Switching between auto focusing and manual is awkward. Although I hate to part with it, I had the lens repaired twice. Another problem is it flares and loses contrast when shooting contra light.
Pros: Excellent Optics from F4-F11. Sharp and minimal distortion unlike the new version. F2.8 is okay if you don't mind some dreamy softness.
Summary: Love the optics except for the flares. Wish I didn't have to get it repaired every couple of years. Looks like I might have to send it away again for the ring auto to manual switch. Otherwise, I love it and have it on my 5d almost all the time. Before, I used it for over three years on a crop frame body. I believe it competes with some of my primes in respective focal ranges.

Cons: Some stiffness in zoom ring operation
Pros: - 2.8 aperture makes this lens very flexible especially in lower light / available light situations. - I have used this lens a lot - very durable - focuses nicely on both my Rebel XT and 7D bodies. - Very flexible zoom range - good all around lens - Has always produced nice, sharp pics for me
Summary: Great value for the price point Reliable and durable The 24-70 zoom range makes this a good all around lens

Cons: Large diameter for filters (82mm). Lens are extended at 24mm and if you are using this lens on 24 with internal flash in the lower side of the picture you'll have a semi-circular shadow.
Pros: Very sharp and can isolate very well the subject. Image quality is almost the same if you compare with Canon 24-70 USM L which is very expensive.
Summary: I would recomend this lens.

Cons: -Heavy -82mm filter -If you don't use full frame then there are lighter lenses.
Pros: -Good zoom range -2.8! -I have never had to blame a bad photo on it.
Summary: A good value. When I got it it was more expensive but it has been good. I'm changing camera mounts and will probably get a 17-70 that is lighter and has stabalization. I used this one on a little sensor so I never saw any corner blur.
