Cons: for such a high price expected sharpness until corners not satisfying, especially wide open on wide angle, CA's

Pros: stopped down a good lens

Summary: because of high price and because lens afford to be stopped down for very good results low rating

Cons: Not the sharpest lens wide open (few 2.8 zooms are). Not a big problem as slight edge blur is often pleasing on Bridal portraits.

Pros: Fantastic Sigma EX construction. Can take more abuse than other independant brands. I'll be using this lens for a long time to come. A bit sharper than my boss' 28-75 Tamron (at most stops) and MUCH better than my first generation Sigma 2.8 28-70.

Summary: I shoot alot with this lens at weddings and use it to make money. Small groups, table shots, portraits, this lens is on my Pentax unless I'm shooting candids or need something wide for large group shots.
