Overall
Owner since: 5 years
Price: 200.00
User profile: Professional
Cons: Lens creep, rotating focus barrel, noisy focus, manual focus is not smooth, jerkey and hard to pin point focus.
Pros: Light, cheap and very sharp when stops are adjusted to f8 or f11. The images are comparable to the L lens around these stops. adequately fast focus. quality images when adjusted are appreciated by even the professionals.

Cons: No IS, separate MF and AF modes, extends on zooming, front element rotates on focussing, trombone-style zoom action.
Pros: The image quality is excellent. It is reasonably light and compact, yet solid and sturdy, and takes smallish (58mm) filters. As this is a discontinued lens its is available only second-hand, and as Canon has so many options in this focal length range (Inlcuding four 70-200 'L' lenses - both f/2.8 and f/4 versions, with or without IS) it costs very little second hand
Summary: It would be hard to get this IQ for such a low price anywhere else. For anyone that shoots action in good light it is a fantastic bargain.

Price: USD 200
User profile: Semipro
Cons: OK and not more. Rotating front element and no USM.
Pros: OK and not more. Should be cheap.
Summary: Why not? No worries about it being incompatible with newer bodies like many Sigmas from these years are.
