1. Introduction

The first Zeiss Otus debuted on the marked in October 2013 – it featured the 1.4 aperture and the 55 mm focal length. The second model of that series appeared less than a year later and the third one in October 2015. Currently the Otus line-up presents itself as follows. The time intervals between the launches indicate that during the September Photokina 2016 you can expect an announcement of another device; meanwhile we would like to test the 1.4/28 model which hit the shelves not so long ago with a shocking price tag of 20,000 PLN, quite steep even for the Otus series.

We would like to thank the Fototechnika company for lending us one specimen of the lens for testing purposes.
