Overall
Owner since: more than 10 years
Price: bought in
User profile: Amateur
Cons: Slow, no IS, USM, AF not very fast
Pros: Really sharp when stopped down a stop or two, decent full open. Very light weight and more robust than one would expect.
Summary: I bought this in a kit in 1996 for aditional 150 EUR. I used this lens when travelling due to its low size and weight. Its construction was decent enough to survive 15 years without any problems. It has even become more popular with me since I use a digital SLR, as I can compensate it largest drawback, the lack of IS by cranking up the ISO when needed and it is now a 128-320 mm effectively !
