Cons: soft corner wide open, too much distortion for a fixed focal, bulky and heavy
Pros: sharpness and contrast wide open allready very good in center of frame - where it matters at F1,4, closed down even better, fast an snappy AF, good build quality
Summary: I love this lens, itīs fully usable wide open. I never regret swapping it with the Nikkor 35/1,8

Cons: No HSM for Pentax Sony. AF hunting in low light. Big and heavy. Maximum magnification is only 1:10.
Pros: Bokeh, color rendition sharpness are excellent. Build is very good.
Summary: King of 30mm for APSC (no competitor) Pentax has only 31mm 1.8 but very expensive.

Cons: Bit random AF, worse CA in strong light and wide aperture (1.4-2)
Pros: Excellent center sharpness, quick AF (even in dim light /w D5000) , warm color (i like that), nice bokeh. Usable result even at 1.4.
Summary: Good all around lens for nearly every condition, especially in low light situation.

Cons: terrible AF accuracy. weird 62mm front. abysmal corner to corner even stopped down to f8. noticeable distortion. massive color fringing, vignetting at all apertures. EX speckle finish disappears fast with use.
Pros: fast and quiet HSM AF. focus ring feels smooth and heavy, solid build. 30mm wider than canon 50mm. F1.4 is amazing bokeh. sharp at the center f1.4 to f5.6 .....
Summary: great bokeh from this lens, i use this lens only for low lit videos, as it is not useful for any kind of photography. stars are streaks not points. portraits are distorted, not wide enough for landscape, AF is too horrible for fast motion. do not buy this lens unless you find it under 300 dollars.

Cons: No weather sealing Slowish AF speed (even with E-5) Focus distance is just ~40 cm A bit yellowish results compared to lenses from Olympus Image is a little softer than 25 year old OM Zuiko 50mm f1.4 and OM Zuiko 50mm f1.8 More barrel distorted than needed (close ups feels awkward) Heavier than would be nice for 4/3 (the lens is designed for APS-C size)
Pros: Fast Build quality is fine but not amazing (compared to Oly lenses)
Summary: I have some kind of love/hate -relationship with this glass. Sometimes it feels awesome, sometimes it feels like total crap. Focal length is pretty good. The IQ drops too much for my taste when used more open than f2.0. Great for low light shooting, but perhaps the Oly 50mm f2 macro would be better for most uses. Depends what kind of focal length you need, the price is about the same, but Oly 50mm has better IQ and it can be used as a macro

Cons: - Soft Borders/Corners, needs f8 to become even decent - quite heavy (due to the build quality... I like it though) - CAs can be visible sometimes - AF is very fast not as reliable as USM canon primes
Pros: - sharp in the center, even wide open - tack-sharp in the center from f1.8-2.0 on - great build quality (though heavy) - very pleasing bokeh, perfect for shallow depth-of-field fotografy - focal length quite unique, it's the only ultra fast standard prime for APS-C
Summary: It's simply the only real fast standard prime for APS-C! A perfect equivalent to any 50mm f1,4 on FullFrame, even optically no worse than most of them. Great walkarround lens, when a zoom ist to large/heavy. Simply put: its's THE standard prime for APS-C at large apertures! Have to love it, with all it's flaws.

Cons: Unsharp corners @f/1.4-f/2, AF-accuracy is not to good.
Pros: very usable @f/1.4 except the corners, bokeh is good
Summary: Good low-light lens. Nice to be able to play with depth of field with a 30mm

Cons: Bad corner performance (sharpness, coma), AF errors usually in dim light, low contrast (compared to Nikon 50mm), a bit too much distorsion
Pros: Excellent center sharpness, even at f/1.4, AF speed, low vignetting, very good color representation and low CA's. No flare or ghost are visible.
Summary: Is an excellent lens for indoor and low light. A very good performer from 1.4 to 2.8; I prefer other lenses from 2.8
