Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between vertical and horizontal MTF50 function values, amounted to just 2.6%. It's a very low value, not giving you any reasons to complain, especially that all Sigma rivals performed a bit weaker in this category.
Defocused circles of light look sensibly well but nothing more than that. The presence of as many as three aspherical lenses in the optical construction makes itself felt at this point so the circles feature onion ring bokeh. As a kind of consolation you might add that mechanical vignetting disappears already on stopping down the aperture by 1 EV.
