Overall
Owner since: 6 months
Price: $2800 + $5
User profile: Amateur
Cons: 60mm filter size limits filters to certain manufacturers and step rings need to be used with more common sizes such as 62mm.
Pros: Beautiful portrait lens, smooth transitions, wide open it renders skin sharp but not biting. Stopped down to 5.6 this lens will resolve very fine detail both on axis and continuing to the edges. Lens hood (2nd version built-in) is very very convenient.
Summary: A lens that Leica will have a difficult time improving on, and they haven't despite being discontinued for many years.

Cons: Cost is high.
Pros: Unique and characteristic look. A grabby normal lens rather than a telephoto which gives an apparent flattening of perspective.
Summary: Distinctive.
