Cons: maximum aperture "only" 3.5.
Pros: not heavy excellent value for money
Summary: This is my first macro lens which I bought for my Nikon D90. The salesman pushed for buying the 105mm Micro but the price tag was not the same. In the beginning I wondered whether the lack of detail was the fault of the lens but as you gain experience you realize that it's more due to the photographer than anything else. The lens is excellent. VR helps to stabilize although some people disagree with this. At 3.5/4.5 doing macro the depth of field is very narrow so you wonder what would happen if the lens would open up wider, so it's not a true handicap. So, in the end no regrets. The quality of the lens is also confirmed by the good test results
