Cons: Lens hood made from cheap plastic. Plastic filter thread. You will need to get KatzEye focusing screen with split prism to maintain all Your pictures in focus
Pros: - Creamy bokeh & fantastic optical quality. Very sharp wide open - you don't want to shoot with any other aperture than 1.4, 1.6 - great lens coating, no flare, You can shoot agains the light with no artifacts -price!!! 85mm 1.4 prime for less than 300 GBP!!!! - manual focus (makes You think more when composing images) - CPU contacts (on my Nikon D300 gives me all metering modes + EXIF data)
Summary: Fantastic lens, superb sharpness, price (even if it breaks down I will buy another one), no cons for that price. It is the best purchase I did in the past Year. Don't think, just get it and start to take pictures with it. And do not believe all those Nikon gear porn jerks checking if brick walls are straight enough or if bottle of wine is in focus. Get that lens and shoot wide open. This lens is for that. For anything else get good quality zoom.
