1. Introduction

When it comes to optics so far the Zeiss company has cooperated closely with Sony, producing lenses for their compact, reflex and mirrorless cameras. Still those devices came only with A or E mounts so they couldn’t be attached to bodies from other producers. At the end of April 2013 it changed, though; Zeiss officially presented all the details concerning two Touit series lenses, designed for mirrorless cameras with APS-C sensors produced by Sony but also fitting the X line Fujifilm models.

Firstly they showed two devices: the ultra wide-angle 2.8/12 and the standard 1.8/32. I admit we fancied the former far more than the latter because neither Sony nor Fuji offered a wider fixed-focal instrument. On the other hand the 1.8/32 model has a lot of rivals in both systems so we suppose it won’t be so popular. That’s why the Touit 2.8/12 found its way to our editorial office and was tested by us as the first.

We would like to thank the Foto-Technika company for lending us the lens for testing purposes.
