Taking into account the fact that distortion measurement errors amount here to about 0.1-0.2% the results reached by the Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 II and the Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 STM are the same. What’s more, it is practically the same level as that of the Nikkor AF-S 50 mm f/1.8 G. All these results don’t make us concerned anyway but it would be nice if the full frame distortion didn’t exceed –1%. After all it is possible and older Minolta and Nikon constructions proved it.
