Sigma 18-200 mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS

8 January 2010

9. Ghosting and flares

Usually the most of problems with flares we notice at the widest angle. Here the Sigma fares quite well and even with the Sun in the frame corner it shows a barely visible series of pale ghosts. What’s interesting, the intensity of these ghosts increases for longer focal lengths because for the middle range they are rather more distinct. Above 100 mm the ghosts disappear but we see a noticeable contrast decrease.
