6. Distortion

The distortion won’t be a serious issue either on an APS-C/DX sensor or even on full frame. On the D200 at 70 mm the distortion is practically zero (−0.09%), and for longer focal lengths it becomes slightly “pincushion”, amounting to 0.56%, 0.75% and 0.77% at 135, 200 and 300 mm focal lengths respectively.

When it comes to the results on the D3x nothing changes at 70 mm as we still get there a zero result within the margin of error (more precisely −0.04%). The “pincushion” at longer focal lengths is easier to notice, though, because at 135, 200 and 300 mm it is 1.55%, 1.79% and 1.89% respectively.
