9. Ghosting and flares

Here the cheap contraction had to fail. The antireflective coatings are not of a very high quality and a close examination of the lens in bright light shows that there are some air-glass borders, which are not covered with these coatings at all.

This defect shows very clearly in pictures, such as the one below, where we can clearly see the moon reflection above the upper left corner of the frame.

After changing to higher focal length, the pictures in bright light have smaller contrast and are clearly flawed.
