The tested lens is equipped with a ring ultrasonic USM motor – small wonder the work of the focusing mechanism is noiseless. Its speed is also beyond reproach. In good lighting conditions running through the whole scale takes less than a second; in poor conditions – a bit more than one second. Setting the working range in the 6 meters- infinity bracket shortens these times by half.

We have no reservations concerning the accuracy of the mechanism. In studio conditions it didn’t misfocus one single time – such a result is simply sensational. When it comes to any front or back focus tendencies we didn’t notice any such problems no matter which of the two bodies, used in our test, was attached to the lens.
