Nikon Nikkor AF-S 28 mm f/1.8G

6. Distortion

Despite a wide angle of view, offered by the tested lens, the distortion is low and won’t bother you even on full frame. The results we got show very moderate barrel distortion which values we measured as –0.86% and –1.13% on the sensor of the Nikon D200 and the Nikon D3x respectively. The chart below shows that the Nikkor 1.8/28 compares really favourably with its competitors. Looking closely at the photos you can notice a slight moustache distortion tendency - it makes the result you get on full frame a bit lower.
