1. Introduction

When the Zeiss company decided to start the production of lenses for mirrorless systems of Fujifilm and Sony it was a piece of very good news for all the customers. Mirrorless systems have been present for only several years on the market so, for obvious reasons, their line-up of lenses is not as diversified as in the case of reflex cameras. Every producer’s decision to make it richer is simply priceless.

Zeiss made their debut with the Touit 12 mm f/2.8 and the Touit 32 mm f/1.8. As the launch of the former was completely understandable, because both, the Sony and the Fujifilm system, lacked such a lens, offering a standard f/1.8 device was quite surprising. From the very beginning the Fujifilm system has featured in its line-up a similar lens, the well done Fujinon XF 35 mm f/1.4 R, and lately the Sony company added the Sony E 35 mm f/1.8 OSS model to their offer. What’s more, both these lenses are much cheaper than the Zeiss, the Fujinon is faster and the Sony boasts the optical stabilization. In order to compare favourably here and draw a lot of customers despite such a high price tag, the Zeiss would have to be an optically outstanding instrument. Is it really the case? We decided to check it.
