On the small sensor of the Nikon D7000 the flares are not bothersome. Even if you manage to catch them their number is limited and intensity – low. The lens fares much worse on full frame. Even with the Sun situated outside the frame you can see distinct ghosting and streaks of light. At longer focal lengths a small, intensive flare appears from time to time. You can easily miss it in the camera display; still when you return home and watch the photos on a computer screen you might find out that it is hard to remove, being situated in an important part of the frame.
