It is always difficult to ensure a good performance against bright light of a megazoom lens. There are several angles of view to be serviced – those of 70-80 degrees and also those of several degrees. What’s more, the device’s size can change and there is a telescopic tube which limits the inner construction. Add to it a significant number of elements, so many air-to-glass surfaces, where unwanted reflections can happen.

Taking all of it into account you can write that the constructors of the Tamron 16-300 mm managed the problem pretty well. Of course you can still catch some flares and in some situations they are quite distinct, as you can see glancing at photos below, but they are never very intensive and they don’t occupy a lot of area in the frame. You have to set very specific parameters and find a very specific location of very bright source of light to allow the artifacts seriously spoil your shot.
