6. Distortion

Attaching the Tamron 15–30 mm to cameras with APS-C/DX sensors you can forget about any distortion problems. Even at wide angle the distortion level is low, reaching just −1.10%. In the middle of the focal range it becomes negligible, amounting to just +0.40%, and by 30 mm focal length it increases slightly to +0.59%.

Much more problems can be experienced on full frame. At 15 mm you get very pronounced barrel distortion which value we assessed as −5.81%. Fortunately it decreases really fast and at 22 mm you get negligible pincushion of +0.32%. At 30 mm the distortion increases again, reaching a moderate level of +1.44%.
