We have no reservations concerning the astigmatism correction. An average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values amounted to 9.5% which is perhaps not a very low result but doesn’t make us worry. Still the rivals fared a tad better here (e.g. the Canon – 3.6%, the Otus – 5%).

The appearance of blurry areas can be described only in superlatives for a change. Defocused circles have a very even light spread; they look even better than those of the Otus which still had some traces of ‘onion ring’ bokeh. However once again the size of the mount becomes a problem because the rings we got in the frame corners are not only shaped like teardrops but also their bottoms are truncated.
