1. Introduction

The Fujinon XF 60 mm f/2.4 R Macro was the first lens in the Fujifilm X system which could be used for portrait photography; still, as its name indicates, it was better suited for macro photography than portraits.

Only two versions of the Fujinon 1.2/56 could be considered classic portrait instruments as they featured everything a portrait photographer might need: good aperture fastness, guaranteeing shallow depth of field, and an angle of view of about 30 degrees.

Still the system lacked an equivalent of the classic full frame 135 mm. The situation changed in May 2015 with the launch of the Fujinon XF 90 mm f/2 R LM WR which test we are presenting right now – enjoy!
