Let’s call a spade a spade: a lens which generates such a “brilliant” photo as shown below will never get any positive assessment in our flares test. You need just one word to describe it: a catastrophe! Especially that the sun was situated several degrees outside the frame….

The number of light artifacts which can be caught with the Tokina 24-70 mm while attached both to the 50D and the 5D Mark III is so high that in order to include all possibilities we would have to download several dozen photos. Let’s just present a dozen or so examples coming from the latter camera…
