10. Autofocus

The autofocus of the tested lens is quiet and very fast. In the majority of cases running through the whole distance scale and confirming the focus takes no longer than 0.3 of a second. It is an excellent result especially that in many cases it doesn’t depend on lighting condition.

When it comes to the accuracy of the mechanism the Canon performs as it befits a journalistic lens of good quality. We didn’t have one single miss in studio conditions.

While checking the front or back focus tendencies on both bodies we found out the lens had problems with the second variant but the effect was so slight that it could be corrected by microregulation of about 5 units.
