Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 12 mm f/1.4 ASPH

1. Introduction

There have been more and more fast fixed focal length lenses added to the Micro 4/3 system and, what’s interesting, not because of a significant Olympus contribution. In fact that company recently haven’t launched any lens faster than f/1.8 apart from the 1.2/25 model. Panasonic have been far more active on this field, presenting such models as, e.g. the Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25 mm f/1.4 ASPH, the Panasonic G 20 mm f/1.7 II ASPH, the Panasonic Leica DG Nocticron 42.5 mm f/1.2 Asph. P.O.I.S., the Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 15 mm f/1.7 ASPH, the Panasonic G 42.5 mm f/1.7 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. or the Panasonic Lumix G 25 mm f/1.7 ASPH.

The Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 12 mm f/1.4 ASPH is the youngest fast fixed focal length lens in that system. It was presented in June 2016 and we got down to checking its performance with real pleasure. Our impressions you can find in the following chapters – happy reading!
