The Nikkor 200–500 mm has distinct problems with performance against bright light. You can notice a significant decrease of contrast for many positions of the sun in the frame. Additionally, when you put the sun right outside the frame, your photos might be overexposed on a significantly big area.
Fortunately narrow angles of view provided by the lens mean that seldom you will deal with situations in which the source of bright light is positioned close to the frame corner or right inside it.
